Welcome! I am currently an associate professor in the Department of Political Science and International Relations at Korea University. Prior to joining Korea University, I was an associate professor in the Department of Political Science and Diplomacy at Jeonbuk National University.  

My research interests lie in comparative political economy and comparative political institutions, with a particular focus on developing countries. More specifically, I study African politics, distributive politics, authoritarian politics, democracy, politics of inequality, and political leaders.

My work has been published and is forthcoming in Canadian Journal of Political Science, Comparative Political Studies, Democratization, Foreign Policy Analysis, International Political Science Review, and Political Studies. I received a PhD in Political Science at Michigan State University in August 2020.
